Bohemia Mining Days in Cottage Grove

Bohemia Mining Days is Cottage Grove's summer festival. It looks back to the gold discovered near Bohemia Mountain in 1858, which Wikipedia says helped fund the town's founding.

The festival

The festival is run by Spirit of Bohemia Mining Days, which describes itself as a Cottage Grove-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Its site lists the 68th annual festival for the third weekend of July 2027 at Coiner Park, with free public access. The schedule items it names are:

  • the Grand Miners Parade
  • Ore Cart Races and Feud Games
  • live music
  • the Wag On Walk and Kiddie Parade
  • KidZone, the Training Grounds, the Art Show and Lil Miss Bohemia City
  • vendors and Miners Meals

Times are on the festival's own schedule page, so check spiritofbmd.com before you go.

A Heritage Tradition

The Willamette Valley Visitors Association lists Bohemia Mining Days as a designated Oregon Heritage Tradition, a program of the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department, and calls it "Cottage Grove's premier festival since 1959."
