Privacy Policy in Cottage Grove

Effective date: 2026-10-13 · Last updated: 2026-10-13

1. Overview

Lucky Duck Productions LLC ("Lucky Duck," "we," "us," "our") owns and operates OregonLiving.net and its town editions (together, "OregonLiving.net"). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use and protect personal information when you visit OregonLiving.net or contact us through it.

We are based in Klamath Falls, Oregon, USA. This policy is intended to comply with Oregon and U.S. federal privacy law, with respect for the principles of CCPA and GDPR where applicable.

2. Information we collect

Information you give us directly. If you use the advertise or be-listed form, we receive the name, business name, email address, phone number and message you enter. If you email or call us, we receive what you tell us.

Information collected automatically. Our web servers keep standard logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested, date and time). OregonLiving.net measures visits with Matomo, which we run ourselves on our own server. It sets no cookies, respects the Do Not Track browser setting, shortens visitor IP addresses before storing them, and deletes raw visit logs after 180 days. We do not use Google Analytics or any third-party advertising tracker, and the site sets no advertising cookies.

3. How we use information

  • To answer your question and follow up about advertising or a business listing
  • To run, secure and improve OregonLiving.net
  • To comply with legal and tax obligations
  • For our internal business records (customer records and correspondence)

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use it for behavioral advertising. We do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.

4. Sharing information

We share information only with service providers who help us run the site and answer you, and only so they can do that job.

  • IONOS SE, hosting. OregonLiving.net runs on servers we operate at IONOS in the United States. Backup copies are stored in IONOS HiDrive, which keeps data in data centers in Germany.
  • Our customer hub. Form submissions are stored in the Lucky Duck customer hub (hub.luckyduck.productions), which we operate, so a person at Lucky Duck can respond.
  • OpenAI and Anthropic (United States), AI assistance. We use AI models to help draft replies. A person at Lucky Duck reviews and approves every message before it is sent. Under their business terms, these providers do not use the data we send them to train their models.

5. Links to other sites

OregonLiving.net links to official and third-party websites, such as city, county, school and visitor sites. They have their own privacy practices, which we do not control.

6. Your rights and choices

You may ask to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, to opt out of marketing communications, or to restrict certain uses. Contact us at the address below. We respond to verifiable requests within 30 days.

7. Data retention

  • Prospective advertiser and contact records: until you ask us to delete them
  • Active client records: for the duration of our engagement plus 7 years (tax recordkeeping)
  • Web server logs: a limited period, then overwritten
  • Backups: kept for a limited period for disaster recovery, then overwritten on a rolling schedule

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information, including encrypted connections, access controls and secure data handling. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee against every breach. If a breach affects your information, we will notify you and regulators as the law requires.

9. Government and law-enforcement requests

Every request is reviewed for legality by the owner, Troy Miller, before we act. A request without valid legal process gets no data, unless someone's life or safety is in immediate danger. If a request is lawful we disclose only the minimum it requires, we tell you first unless the law prohibits it, and we document the request.

10. Cookies

OregonLiving.net does not set cookies of its own, and our Matomo analytics runs in cookieless mode. The advertise form is loaded from our customer hub and may set a cookie needed to submit the form.

11. Children's privacy

OregonLiving.net is intended for adults and businesses. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.

12. International users

Lucky Duck operates from the United States. If you access OregonLiving.net from elsewhere, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States, and backup copies are stored in Germany.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes are posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
